An empty matchbox
- A cute piece of fabric approx 4 times size of matchbox [I used vintage scraps]
- Glue
- Scissors
- Old book paper or any paper you like.. musical/science book/floral/coloured
- Trinkets to put into the box [could even be a message rolled up...]
- A stamp or choice or piece of paper cut to size of the inside of the box.
- Any rubber stamps are handy for fun and cute extra's [words or letters]
-
Cut your piece of fabric so that you can roll the matchbox up within it and make sure you leave a 1cm seam around it.
- Lie the box within the fabric [outer only!] and put glue along the edge of the box. Lift up the flap of fabric and stick to this edge.
- Roll up the box in the fabric. Fold and glue the edge back on itself, Again glue the edge of box and stick down folded flap.
- This is how it should look now.
- Cut 4 incisions to each of the 4 corners of the box. Glue and fold these inside the box one by one. Lid done.
- Lay the box drawer in the paper you are using, make sure there is enough to fold the edges over and cover the inside walls but not the bottom.
- Begin folding the paper inside as tightly and neatly as possible. Do the long edges first.
- With the shorter sides imagine you are wrapping a present, fold in side to make a triangle.
- Fold these up and glue to the inside. Repeat on both sides.
- Choose a stamp or similar sized image and glue to the bottom of the box.
- Fill your box with trinkets of your choice.
- I cut a little paper heart out of the same paper used to cover the drawer and stuck this to the lid. And here you have an adorable personal gift. xx
- Oh it's so cute! I am going to make a few little sets and pop them on Etsy!
- ENJOY.
- Lots of Love.
