Kit Kemp and the Crosby Street Hotel - SoHo New York

If you go to NYC I would highly recommend a visit to The Crosby Street Hotel in Soho. It is situated on a quiet cobbled street in the heart of the vibrant So Ho neighbourhood.

I went for breakfast on my 30th Birthday and it was devine...food was delicious but not pretentious and the setting was just perfect.

The whole place was decked out by interior Designer, Kit Kemp. Her and her husband Tim own the company, Firmdale hotels and own 7 in London and this one in New York. She does all the interiors, they are fresh vibrant and offer a unique hotel experience. The artwork is very cool and bright and bold....

They were perfectly happy for us to wander round and photograph and just look at stuff which was nice.. it felt like a gallery in places as all the things on the wall and in the lobby were artworks and crazy sculptures a like. It felt like someone's house, a very awesome house full of beautiful things, even the toilets were a pleasure to be in [ I can't speak for the men's].....

Here are a few photo's that don't do the space justice but you can see how fabulous it is.... so much colour and great Design everywhere.

Check out the pink chairs in toilets! LOVE. I wish my loo was that pretty.

Ah just looking at these I wish we were back there wandering around the surrounding streets, full of cool shops and cafe's... one day one day...

Brooklyn Flea Market - Dan's Parent's House

Ok so here is the first of my New York treat spots....

On every Saturday and Sunday the Brooklyn Flea Market is on, Sundays it is at Williamsburg in the East river waterfront on the Sunday with a spectacular views of Manhattan. What a great place for a market....

Grab a People's pop or a delicious snack from Milk Truck and wander around this visual feast.

There are some great Vintage sellers, handmade craft and design, amazing food vendors and just general bits and bobs, which leads me to the main vendor I wanted to tell you about as it just stuck to me and I wanted to rifle through everything he had....

Dan's Parent's House  - An eclectic visual array of all sorts of things from bingo cards, tin letters, old star wars toys, letterpress blocks, dice, wooden things, papers, postcards, toys and collectibles. A proper rummage through is essential. I t must take him hours to set up such a stall, it was like a shop.... amazing. Just so many things to look at, I was like a kid in a sweet shop [ like I was a lot of the time in NY!]

I bought vintage Bingo cards, tiny glass bottles, and got a free popcorn bag... I wanted to buy so much more.....

Other things I bought from the flea were an amazing strawberry print tablecloth, vintage postcard of the Empire State building and a vintage dressmaking book. SUCH GOOD TREATS.

A must see in Williamsburg!

Hope you enjoy having a look, next time I will have to take a bigger case so I can buy those huge tine letters!!

New York New York! The Greatest Apple Of All.

New York New York, the city so pretty they named it twice. A hot humid noisy soup pot of intense and creative human life.

A crazy city with so much to see and do, a totally inspirational and fun trip.

Apart from having a fab time seeing best friends and sharing their exciting news, spending my 30th there I managed to drag poor James to ALOT of crafty havens and supply shops that blew me away....The flea markets and thrift shops were also immense and had some great treats [ I just wish I could have bought more!]

I have so many photos to share I don't know where to start.. I still don't. I will just share something new each time!

Crafty highlights were Williamsburg, Brooklyn FleaPurl Soho, Tinsel Trading , Metalliferous and New York elegant fabrics.

Here are some snippets of NYC things to come....

I have so many new supplies and I can't wait to get making! Expect bright colours and bold prints. x

I had so much fun taking photos of everything I bought.....

Hope you like...
