IKEA. The Lingonberry Awaits ♥

Just a quick excitable note because I am going to IKEA tonight.... and I am dreaming up everything I want/need.... basically the same thing right? I am so dangerous in IKEA, literally am a child in a lolly shop. I can't help it, I love the Swedish design and how shamelessly cheap it is and I know I shouldn’t but I do, but I cannot help it. Sorry.

I like eating the meatballs and that is the ONLY way to get James there and I need his help to carry all the unnecessary crap I will buy.

I am going for a reason [well I say reason, excuse really] a friend has commissioned me to make a framed artwork for a friend of hers so I need the frame! And, No, they don't sell frames anywhere else, OK.
I just had a peek as the new catalogue came out recently so there will lots of new designs and gorgeousness!! Look at this little collection of things.... hmmm. WOO HOO. I can taste the Lingonberry jam already.....

I just love these Button wall plate decorations under the GRADDIG collection, pretty cute, nice idea! The rest are a summery outdoor vibe as I am looking forward to the picnic and bbq season upon us... I am a huge sucker their glassware as a lot of it is actually hand or mouth blown and the colours are lush. But really every section has a piece of my heart. ♥

Oh the end of the day can't come fast enough!

Makers Market

A Spring Market is upon us....

The Sydney Etsy Team, [SET] which I am a leader on is having it's first market on Saturday 7th September. Yes I know same day as the election.... I am sure we can find time for both!

We are holding it at the UNSW Roundhouse from 10am - 5pm. The University is actually having an open day so there will be lots of people attending and it should be a fun day all round!

So come along, there will be yummy food and some fab handmade and vintage sellers such as [in order of photos below] Ena&Albert, Pitanga Desins, The Mouse and Me, Fawna Vintage, Cherish, Geritom, Gabby Malpas, Me and many more!

Hope to see you all there!

Happy Tuesday.

My Day As Mrs Dee - A Sewing Introduction Class

So I know this was now ages ago but I have been overseas and am now back and raring to go!

My last post was about the upcoming day of teaching sewing, so I thought I would share a few photos of the day itself. I barely got time to take any. Kids are exhausting!! It was a pretty fun and manic day, the kids had fun though and all came away with something they had made which is great!

I wish I had taken more but I was being pulled in every which way by the kids and even my coffee went cold! I loved it though; watching their minds work and how they put things together was fascinating.

A few had a great eye for colour combo's and were very savvy.... young designers in the making...

We did 2 projects, one was a fabric scrap keychain which they embellished with fun buttons and the other was a mini house softie which they got to choose the colours and fabrics for.

Just a few shots of the fun day we had:

And I will be doing another class at the September camp which is great! Date is not set yet but keep your eyes on The School's website for details.
I'll be back soon with my Travel Adventures from London and the beautiful south coast of England.
Much love!
