We have just come back from a week away in Thailand with my folks to celebrate a certain Mumra's 60th birthday. A few balmy tropical stormy days and some delicious food were had along with lots of laughs and memories for life.
I ate some of the best Thai food including a bloody good pad Thai, a 'Homok coconut chicken' which blew my head off but I can't stop thinking about it, a snapper in coconut milk with red curry and a very simple rice vegetable soup. I have come home full of inspiration and fire in my Thai belly :)
Apart from food the things I love best about beautiful Thailand are the people, the enormous green tropical foliage, cheap fruit shakes and the complete lack of 'health and safety'! Snippets....
Railay is definitely a little slice of paradise but I would imagine in high season it would be packed, there are plenty of good places to eat and drink and fairly cheap too. It has a lovely charm to it and has an island vibe even thought you are on the mainland. A great place to base yourself for island hopping (if you get the weather!)
